About Us and Our Dogs
We have been in amstaffs
since 1979 when my son purchased a male and female from Drake Curry in South Carolina, from the Gallant lines. My son
built a very nice outdoors area for them and they were put together from the time they were babies. Of course, they
were my son's dogs and he took excellent care of them but did not notice his female was in season and in January 1980
we had the most beautiful litter of 7 males and 1 girl, this was our beginning. There were 3 champions from that first
litter plus their sire CH Briarcliffs Boy Named Sue that finished his championship at the 1981 national in Atlanta, Ga. my
first national. We have bred over 22 champions since then with limited breeding, and mostly pet homes. We feel
the homes are much more important than anything and will keep our puppies for the rest of their lives if need be, i feel you
are responsible for the dogs you produce for all their lives. All babies are raised with children and in the house,
we try to find the best possible homes for our dogs, and you will have to fill out a application for us to see. Now
enjoy our dogs and you are always welcome at Barbarian Kennels.
